FOB/C* * ='s So I ran on the floor directly in front of the balcony where the soundboard is located. I ran the mics so that they were in the middle of the balcony (the actual "balcony wall" was about 5' maybe, and I was in the center of that...) in an attempt to deal with the noise below (ie. drunks on the floor, the bar behind me, etc.) and the noise from the balc. above... We were the only stand that did not get kicked or bumped that night (thanks to the huge crew of pham whom I love and miss! UPS!) with only this rig and Pepper's schoeps on the stand. I think that it worked great, and we used the same thinking when we ran the 4 mic AKG on the fly mix @ the Fillmore Phish gig. Use the venues, don't fight them... save the fighting for antelope greg!
