View NotesThis recording has occasional dropouts in the left channel, accompanied by muffled audio on the right. It's mostly noticeable at the beginning of songs. It's just how it is. Dan Healy's Last Shows as the GD Soundman. JIm Blackwood and John Bradford interviewed him on March 5 before the show. The audio circulates and is transcribed as well. https://www.angelfire.com/fl/goodbear/healy-interview.html A "best of" musically, as well as extended portions of the interview, was broadcast on 91.3 FM KXCI Tucson on Dead Air, March 7, 2021 - hosted by Jim Blackwood and Jamie Waddell. https://spinitron.com/KXCI/pl/12762487/Dead-Air originally shared at www.shnflac.net March 2021

View NotesNotes: This recording has the same genealogy as the 3/5/94 I recently posted. In the summer of 1999, Dick Latvala cloned the March 4-6 1994 run for a guy who hosted a Grateful Dead-themed radio show; I obtained copies from the radio host. As with the 3/5 and 3/6 I seeded, there are ZERO fades or time alterations to this recording. From first note to last, this is exactly what the boys played, in real time. Comments: 1) THAT ANNOYING FIRST SET "PISH PISSSSH....PISH...PISSSSSHHHHH" NOISE! I don't know what was causing that, but it's pretty much present throughout the first set. Because the music drowns the noise out, I inserted track markers between each song, so you can choose to preserve the natural flow between songs (and hear the pish pish noise) or FFW to the next song. All I ask is that if and when you burn this show for others, you preserve the integrity of the recording and keep each track, pish pish noise and all, in the recording. 2) Second set levels were a HUGE problem. My original discs had "Iko" thru "Drums" on one disc, and "Space" thru the encore on another disc. Well, similar to 3/6/94, the levels didn't match from one disc to another, except the volume was intensely dissimilar. Whereas it was only a 20% bump on 3/6 and 3/5, "Space" thru the encore needed damn near a 40% boost. 3) Track markers were pretty much accurate, except for the aforementioned insertion of tracks to give the listener the option of bypassing the dread Pish Pish noise. I did insert a section into "Space" that bears scrutiny. Instead of the traditional "Drums" --> "Space" --> "Jerry Ballad" so familiar to the 90's, I broke "Space" into two separate tracks. There is a very interesting jam (here, called "MIDI Space") that I felt should be given its own track.
