View NotesNotes: The Jim Wise AUD from LMA supplies the first nine seconds of Jack Straw and one minute of Loser (starting at 02:12) to cover the tape flip. The tape has hiss and surface noise from past generations. Also, there's an intermittent buzzing that seems to be coming from Bob's guitar and is likely on the master. I used Soundforge to make fades, small edits, normalize the volume, and cross-fade the AUD patches. Thanks go to Jeff Harrison for providing the cassette, and to Jake Feinberg for feverishly tracking this down. ENJOY & SMILE!

View NotesA straight transfer (of my master, not the patches), no DSP at all. minimal editing consisting of cross fades at pause breaks, insertion of patches, a few small level adjustments. * These tracks sourced from a 1st gen. copy I made for a friend. The master tape has been missing for many years, a major reason for this not being circulated before. I kept hoping it would turn up. However, the well preserved copy is practically indistinguishable. Patches were sourced from shnid 105585 and shnid 95425. Slight eq and pitch adjustments were made to improve sound character matching. This source is marred by occasional wind flutter, mostly during the first set.

View NotesNotes: - After the Egypt sources, the anonymous taper contacted me to talk about transferring and editing some more masters from his collection. These Greek Theater shows were a tapers choice, a run he holds near and dear. These tapes were made by a group of friends. The taper explained how he had spent the majority of the weekend waiting in line just to get to the sweet spot inside the venue where he knew the sound would be at its best. He didn't want to see these tapes (and many others) that represent wonderful moments in music history, deteriorate without ever being circulated. For him, these tapes represent really great times, where friendships were made by individuals from different backgrounds and talents with a common goal of trying to capture the sense of being there. - All tape flips and short pauses between songs are cross faded - This is a very nice recording. Very full sound. The vocals are a little low in the mix at times but the aura of the show is more than enough to make up for it. - Thanks to MOTB for the use of the HD-p2
