flac16/48kHz; Static reduced, speed corrected, slightly eq'ed & gain normalized version of source ID 132543 (SBD> MR> DAT) by Dan McDonald
Taper Notes:
View Notes* multiple instances of static - possibly discharge from record or playback head. I minimized these. Some are gone completely, others are still audible but minimized. I am sure I missed some but these are all I can find within a limited time frame. # Just after reel change/tape flip, cb-radio type noise. Minimized but still there ^ 1 electro-glitch instance (may be different kind from the others) fixed All editing and conversion work with Diamond Cut Forensics 8.5. Converted to 24-bit, 48kHz using Triple precision math; editing done in 24/48 with 32-bit interpolation. Converted to 16/48 with triple precision, 32-bit interpolation and DC8.5 Forensics custom dither (Noise Shape 2). Editing: Speed changes to stabilize the speed in Set I. Speed was off slightly in a linear fashion, so speed change varied from -.14% to +1.0% over a given 45 minute period. Set II did not need any speed correction. I noticed instances suggesting that there were two recorders with some editing done on the master tape. Jim doesn't think it was done. After all the editing was complete, I did a very light eq to increase bass and treble, and then gain normalized each channel to -.5 dB.

Recording Info: SBD > MR > ? > DAT > CDR; Transfer Info: CDR > WAV > Sound Forge 10 > TLH > Flac; Cleaned up, retracked, remastered version of shnid 6250. Cleaned up, retracked and mastered by Bill Guarneri, August 9, 2014
Taper Notes:
View NotesNOTES AND FIXES: Cleaned up, retracked, remastered version of shnid 6250. Many tracks were near unlistenable due to loud static and noise. Most static and noise now removed. Big improvement. Some vocal distortion remains but not too distracting. Corrected pitch and track timing. Probably a C gen in lineage. Could not patch. No available source. Eliminated nearly 12 minutes of dead air resulting in smaller file size. No keyboards in mix except for tuning and couple minutes of Truckin'. Many fades were used for track continuity. Disc 2, track 2 could have end missing. Disc 2, track 6 has brief severe cut at 02:31 Encore missing - possibly Uncle John's Band. IMHO, A near perfect set list and a very hot performance. Get this!
