This show has been recorded from the front row of the Glasgow Barrowlands. Taper's position was in front of one of the main speaker stacks for a more 'even' sound, rather that at centre stage where the band's own amps were positioned in a semi-circle. The show was extremely LOUD so I'm glad I took the earplugs! Consequently, what you have here is an up-close and personal recording. Due to the volume level of the band, my own input levels were set low. Therefore, giving the 'advantage' of picking up less audience noise. On the night, the show was apparently sold out but due to adverse weather conditions in central Scotland the place looked nowhere near capacity. Heavy snowfall (for the UK) pretty much crippled the country for almost a week and the temperature in the 'Barras' was pretty dang cold too. Never seen so many woolly hats worn at the front of a gig before! I think there would have been alot of wasted tickets for this night, which is a shame. The band was excellent and the audience, that were there, loved it. Unfortunately, there are always some people at gigs making a nuisance of themselves. In the introduction to track 4, Moya, a women can be heard getting quite upset with a couple of guys behind her touching her head. The bouncer at the other side of the railing sees this and leans over to give the guys a well deserved bollocking. Although I'm still suprised how quietly this comes over in the recording. It is these same guys who are responsible for the intermittent wooping, yelling and swearing in between songs. I spoke to them prior to the gig starting and they seemed fine but after their frequent trips to the bar it seems they don't handle their drink too well. Enjoy!

Notes - Amazing concert. This is a two source merge of two seprate audience recordings documenting the evening. We were both on one side of the venue, a little bit removed from the front. Godspeed came on to a low hum and built up a wall of noise, before unleashing a 20min+ new song. What a way to come back. The setlist was astounding, and the concert incredible. Endlessly absorbing and enthralling, the crowd were still looking for more when they finally left the stage after some 2hrs+. About the recording - The sound on this is quite good, I mixed the recordings over to each side a little. Each source on its own had their faults, mine being mono and a jamroom's overloading at the start, but were quite complementary. I have not tried to engineer a "perfect" sounding recording, more one which accurately documents the night & atmosphere - note how the majority of crowd are so respectful throughout! These are the second and third recordings respectivelly for this night to surface, another CA-14 source was posted on dime shortly after the sound. It has excellent sound, but I thought as it was so close-to-stack sounding (and a little overloaded) throughout, it would disrupt the balance if incorporated. Plus it's great on its own. Note, there's a couple of bits of static on either side from us adjusting our mics. Editing Notes - DPA source bass reduced and edited for sound, Church Audio source used as raw. Mixed in audacity with no correction for speeds, DPA 50% right, CA 60% left, sprinkle of magic and hey presto. *Support the band & Constellation records* Do not sell / Share freely Compiled by jadg2, 18th December 2010
