Taper Notes:
View Notes^ with Max Verna on guitar - note had to patch a chunk from the released version of The Man With The Hat to compensate for a tape flip. Notes: The band recorded 8/1/97, 8/2/97 and 8/3/97 via a mobile recording studio that was parked on the street outside of Valentines. The recordings represented here, I made via the normal SBD patch I used regularly when recording shows at Valentines. They were recorded onto analog masters, and thus there are tape flips as notated. Valentines was absolutely packed for these shows, and the 8/3/97 was an all ages show that began early, around 8pm, when the norm for Conehead at Valentines was a 10:30 - 11:00 pm start time. It's important to note that the band has complete, studio quality copies of these shows in their own personal archives. These recordings are not the ones that were used to compile the album, the professional recordings were. These are fan made recordings, and it's important to differentiate between the two. I have never heard the band's actual recordings of these shows. This was a historic weekend in Conehead Buddha history, and the band repeated songs intentionally trying to get good takes onto tape for the live album. Enjoy the rawness, and fun of these tapes. I know I had a blast! -Taperwayne May 2013.
