Notes: -- This is a remaster of shnid=110032 & "VGRM09". -- 5 instances of mild digi-noise remain in "Use Me" st 1:08, 1:18, 1:32, 2:26 & 2:39 into track (not terrible, but there). -- Bad, huge digi-noise in "La Fiesta" at 4:27 into track for 1.5 seconds that I had to copy left channel over. Didn't want to, but had no choice as it was very loud & destructive & no other way of getting rid of it. -- Recorded By Kent Tomita -- DAT provided by Matthew Berman from Pat "PC" Cooper's collection. -- Many thanks to Charlie Miller, Kent Tomita, Pat Cooper & Matthew Berman for sharing this killer show with us all. ************************************************************************** VGRM series: VGRM01 - Mago(Martin Medeski) 2007-05-12 - Japan VGRM02 - Ryan Adams & the Cardinals 2006-10-17 - Germany VGRM03 - Schleigho 2010-06-25 - NYC VGRM04 - Club d'Elf 2008-03-13 - Cambridge, MA("10th Anniversary") VGRM05 - Schleigho 2003-10-16 - Albany, NY VGRM06 - Los Lobos 2010-12-31 - City Winery, NYC VGRM07 - Piers Faccini 2011-02-09 - Living Room, NYC VGRM08 - Bruce Hornsby 1999-03-26 - Paramount Arts Center, Ashland, KY ************************************************************************** ************************************************************************** Well this reminds me of a sarcastic comment I once saw on a dime thread of a Bob Dylan remaster that still had problems...it read, "This remaster needs remastering!!" Pretty funny. I'm very sorry if you already downloaded my VGRM09 of this show that I posted a few days ago, but I think that you should just delete that & get this one. The more I critically listened to the show, the more clicks, mic bump/burps & other anomalies I found, so I ended up just combing through the whole show with open ears & getting rid of them. Some were minor, some were very loud & now they are gone. They were not on every track, but they were on most (all but 5)...sometimes just one within the track, sometimes a few. Once I finished this whole process, I couldn't get the few previously clean FLACs to link up with the 'new' FLACs without gaps &/or SBEs, so there was no way of letting the folks who already downloaded to just drop the 'bad' tracks & fill up their folders...so very sorry, you'll all have to get it again, but let me say that it is so worth it because I think it sounds great & 99% of all problems are now gone (a few bits of minor digi-noise remain [see new notes above]). I really enjoyed diggin' on this show & hope you do, too. Again, my sincere apologies for making you re-download it, but trust me, if you wanted it before, then you want this version now!! NAME THAT TUNE!!: In the final minute of "The Shape I'm In", Zero teases a very famous tune that I (& you, probably) heard many times while growing up. I'm embarrassed to say that I can't place the name of it, but it is soooo familiar. I think it's a very 'American-centric' tune...can you name it?? I know that you can!! ************************************************************************** ************************************************************************** original ('VGRM09') notes: OK, so here is a very tasty Zero show from 1996 that I just finished remastering. Now some of you may be wondering why I remastered this random Zero show. Well, the easy answer could be, "why not??", but in all reality, I was checking it out & it was a typically great Zero show from this period, but it just seriously lacked any bass or bottom end to the recording. I don't know if this was a result of the microphones used or this was how it was mixed in the house that night, but I like my Zero with the presence of Bobby Vega being known!!!! After many tries, I believe that I found an EQ that established his meaty presence without sacrificing the beautiful highs. I hope that you all agree. In my opinion it is much better & therefore I wanted to share it with you all. I also applied the dc offset, Balanced out the beginning of the show (Matinee Set) where the taper was getting his levels adjusted, and found & cleanly removed a few errant clicks, bumps and/or pops (now, of course, I found & removed many, many more[combed through on 2/24-25/2011]). Enjoy!! **************************************************************************
