Uncle Earl 2006-07-28 Lyons, CO - Planet Bluegrass - RockyGrass - Moongrass http://www.uncleearl.net KC Groves - guitar, vocals Abigail Washburn - banjo, vocals Rayna Gellert - fiddle, focals Kristin Andreassen - guitar, feet, vocals Erin Coats - bass with on various tracks Scott Nygaard - guitar Ben ? - bass Casey Driessen - fiddle Tristan Clarridge - cello ? - cello Sarah Jarosz - mandolin, banjo Tony Trischka - banjo Aoife O'Donovan - vocals Sharon Gilchrist - ? not sure if she ever joined NOTES Challenging recording environment, with a fairly quiet PA and a LOUD, boisterous (and a fair percentage, IMO, drunkard) audience. And I flubbed two key settings in preparing for the recording: I thought I was running at 16-bit and so had my levels set aggressively for the music (and not the LOUD audience), and I forgot to engage the R-4's on-board limiter. The result: clipping artifacts during some of the applause and hooting and hollering between songs, with a couple spots of clipping artifacts during the actual music. Doh! Oh, well...live and learn - pay attention to the bit-depth and engage the limiter when needed! Taper : Brian Skalinder /
