It would scarcely be exaggerating to say that ATP is the only music festival in the United States worth going to. Expertly curated, efficiently produced, and attended by serious fans, it is the opposite of most of the crassly commercial outdoor shitshows that try to pass for festivals in this country. Hosted in the dilapidated and somewhat freakish Kutsher's resort, ATP is an indie fan's paradise, with sets that start on time, a sound system that blows away even most good club systems, and bands that are the true masters of their craft. That is certainly true of Tortoise, who gave us this kickass set.
