The summer of '14 was a pretty smoky one, but I rode the bike 5 miles each way, as it was basically up Airport Road and back. This show was part of an inaugural "Pikes Waterfront Lodge Concert Series", that sadly, never made it past the first year. Pike's is on the river, and near our airport, so you will hear occasional planes and boats during the show, but to me, it enhances vs. takes away from the listening experience. This guy is a hell of a guitar and banjo player, and for a Tascam INTERNALS recording (no Sonic Studios mics here), it is a hell of an example of how one can nail a recording that sounds like the mics were expensive...except they weren't. Lots of fidelity and texture on this one, so be sure to have fun with it. Yet again, thanks be to Dr. Dennis for whipping this up for all our enjoyment. Just stay away from me with that thermometer... Is this guy related to Nelly Furtado?
