Applied slight volume normalization, clap removal, notch EQ-ing out 1 burst of feedback. Major EQ job. Sample rate conversion 48khz to 44.1khz using iZotope 64-Bit SRC set higher than "Highest Quality" setting w/anti-alias filter. Then dithered to 16 bits using using iZotope MBIT+ with Ultra noise shaping, with high dither settings. Tracked in CDWav.

I've posted my recording of his set here: <a href="http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=371176" rel="nofollow">http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=371176</a> I mostly managed to EQ out a burst of feedback at 5Khz in T1 from 10-12 sec ^ = w/Dave on trumpet & Andy on saxophone # = Andy moves to tablas for ending section + = announced as the 1st ever performance. This song wasn't released by the band until 1997's "The Smaller The Grape, The Sweeter The Wine" & = cover, known from Patsy's Cline's version Taper Notes: So now that I've put out the fantastic release of the Jeff Buckley set from this night as "historic" BARN100, I HAD to follow it up (BARN101) with actual the reason I was at CBGB's gallery on that night -- this Tiny Lights show, as they were apparently the opener for Jeff Buckley. Like I said in the notes for BARN100, I actually started out the night at Deanna's (now defunct) jazz club on St. Mark's Place for Solar, a band that Andy Demos (Tiny Lights' drummer) also played drums in, along with Adam Bernstein (bass -- he's gone on to become the bassist for the Laurie Berkner band) and Eli Yamin on piano. It was one of those free (but pass around the tip jar for the band) venues, and Deanna (the club's namesake) would sit for a song or 2 during each band's set. After the Solar set ended, I hitched a ride with Andy in his car packed with drums over to the Bowery to see Tiny Lights' set at CBGB's 313 Gallery. This was not the actual famous CBGB club, but a more cafe-style venue (think tables and seating) that they opened right next door in the later years of the venue. I was treated to a really nice Tiny Lights set not too unlike the other sets around this time, though they did spinkle the (short!) setlist with the sublime "Blue Dot Cleanser" from their 1st album, the always very very welcome "Green Instead" (featuring Andy's tabla playing in the extended outro) and the rarities (as far as I can tell) "Papermoon" and "Whispering" which must have been a recent composition (as it didn't see an album release until 1997!). "Honey Do" is a total rave-up and always fun to hear. Listen closely to Dave's bass playing on "Pushin' The Button" to hear him getting funky! Enjoy!
