The thin crowd allowed lower mic placement, about 6'. DPA wind screens in play. Second Set: Running Din'ish between tables, no more than 3' feet from any instrument and 2 from patrons to the left and right. Maybe 8 paying folks all night. The crowd swelled to 12 or so with some 1st Ave staffers rolling in an out throughout the night. Two rounds of Maker's Mark (on the house? On Dancin' Dave?) were sent around and that was special. Set two found the band unplugged playing at table side to three patrons, three tapers and 2-4 milling behind the tables. Very weird but strangely endearing. This low turn out was the perfect storm of the confluence of day of week(Sunday), gas prices($4gal), venue rep(Goth-hip hop-garage-underage), and venue location(downtown). Plus, the Radiators were in town. Win some, loose some, but as far as I go, we won! Go out and buy Loaded.
