AT853 Cardioids (4.7k mod) > SP-SPSB-11 (@69Hz) > Sony PCM-M10 (24 bit @48kHz) > Adobe Audition 3.0 (dithered to 16 bit @44.1kHz)
Lineage:
SanDisk 16GB MicroSD Card > (USB) 24 bit @48kHz > Cd Wave
Taper Notes:
View Notes* = Originally Recorded By Supertramp. + = Originally Recorded By The Police. The first time The Verve Pipe have played their 1996 platinum album front to back. Brian had mentioned most of this album was written in Lansing while he was living there back in 1994. It seemed like the appropriate place to play it for the first time. I ended up running 2 separate rigs (AT853 & CSB) to ensure if any problems occured, the show would be recorded one way or another. The AT853 cardioid source seemed to suffer from wind noise here and there (much more of a sensitive mic) while the CSB binaural recording did not. However, the CSB source does not have the crisp high end the AT853 does. So, its a toss up. I have posted both sources to let the listener choose which they prefer. Both were recorded in full 24 bit 48kHz high quality audio. The show ran nearly 2 hours in length with the band adding 2 audibles towards the end of the set, "Take The Long Way Home" & "Medicate Myself". If you are listening to the AT853 source, you will hear the wind pick up towards the end of the show. Huge thanks to Shane Gruesbeck for the last minute (literally!) VIP wristband to get a bit closer to record. Otherwise, I would have been back another 25 feet behind a picket fence near the soundboard tent. You rule, man! As always, thanks to The Verve Pipe for allowing me to record such a momentous event for those who could not be in attendance.
