View NotesBrian notes that it's AJ's birthday at the beginning of "I've Suffered A Head Injury" "Cup Of Tea" is introduced by Brian as "... newest of all the tunes. This is called Tea." I saw them the following week at the State Theater in Kalamazoo (9/16), and that 9/16 show would turn out to be one of my favorites. This tape brought back lots of memories of the K'zoo show for me. I had been following them since '93, and I think it was right at this show that it really hit me that they were going to be hitting it big. Gone were the more intimate acoustical excursions typical of the Pop Smear shows. This was a band that had graduated out of the bar/club scene and could really deliver the goods in a theater setting.
