View NotesThe Van Burens performed on the Gazebo stage. Greg 'Smitty' Smith - guitar, vovals Greg 'Spitzy ' Spitz - guitar, vocals Emmett 'McGee' Knox - bass, vocals Jeff 'Pizza' King - keys, vocals Matt 'Papa Bear' Spitz - drums, vocals Previously uncirculated. (this mix uploaded 5/9/16) The original recording has a lot of digi-noise/hiss most evidenced in quiet sections; the experimental duplicate was a bit 'wonky' on its own. This recording is a mix of the original file, and a duplicate which has had noise reduction applied to remove hiss. Further edited slighlty between tracks. Some noise is still noticeable during quieter moments. This mix is a trade-off; I hope it represents the fine performance well. taping notes: another faulty attempt to record via the PS2. Used Naztech Powerbank 1500 via Gak cable to power PS2 (instead of internal 9v) and also power DR-2d (5V via usb RatShack cable.)(first attempt to power 2 devices via PB1500.) An audible noise is present throughout; This could be due the recorder in too close proximity to the powerbank (experienced before in home tests) I had the Tascam input set LOW, at 100. Meters were reaching (display) - 10dB. Usually I set a much lower level, down to 68. Perhaps I should have set the input gain to MED and a 67+ level. This noise is possibly coming from the recorders preamps. I have had issues with the PS2>DR-2d combo before. In this instance power was never interupted. furthermore: The gazebo is located on the NW corner of a very small square in downtown Keene. In the center of this there is a rock sculpture/fountain. I placed my stand in the water surrounding the sculpture (last time I recorded there the fountain was dry.) Although my mics were forward of the water flowing down the rocks, I believe some of the ambient vibration comes from the stand. Less noticable in louder passages.
