Neumann KM184 8 ft -> Tascam DR-70D 24bit/48kHz WAV -> Audition (editing) -> Fission (splicing) -> xACT (flac) Notes: This was a benefit show where The Tracks reunited for their friend and old sound engineer Lou Reilly who suffered from a stroke a couple years ago. I mixed this show on a PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2. I’d like to thank Jim Durkin of In Phase Audio for supplying (free of charge) some eqs and other gear so I wasn’t chasing feedback all day, for some reason the PreSonus only has 3 bands of eq for monitor mixes! The stage mics were at the front of the stage on either side, they were pointed in towards the drummer, this allowed me to mix in guitar and stuff that wouldn’t have been in a board recording because of the sheer loudness on stage. Having the microphones with such a wide spread had the extra bonus of adding a stereo image on what is essentially a mono mix (i.e. the 3 mics on the drums, kick drum, snare and an overhead were all panned center, but they sound stereo), and to my surprise it seems to add depth too.
