NICK’S NOTES:

One of more luscious-sounding shows of the Cicero’s Monday Night Shakedowns so far, complemented by the presence of Brian Ryback on saxophone during the second set.  Lots of dynamic moments.  Steady crescendos and tall, soaring peaks.  There was a good amount of looseness to the set.  Overall the show was really rejuvenating, gratifying, and grounding — despite several minor taping errors.

Some highlights include: 

-energetic Second That Emotion opener

-Over Big Top > Space Search

-improvisational passages within Iko Iko

-Little Wing first set ender

-Saxophone all throughout the second set

-Jam > Sweet Melodies (this one was especially sweet)
