View NotesHello! Emerald here once again with my second live Mountain Goats tape! Wow! Instead of repeating a bunch of stuff I wrote for the Tulsa show at The Vanguard, I’ll say some different stuff. Thank you to the lovely staff at Liberty Hall for allowing those of us who show up way too early to line up outside of the venue to take shelter inside during the tornado warning. All of the staff I met with were so welcoming, accommodating, and wonderful. LMGBTapes and I typically hang out and tape in The Bone Zone(tm) (the Matt Douglas side of the stage), but for these two shows I decided to hang with my buddies in the Peter Hughes Splash Zone. While I still favor experiencing the Goats from stage right, hearing the difference it makes in the tape to be set up closer to the rhythm section really is magic. I have been tuned in to Jon and Peter for the duration of this tour and getting to hear them with more clarity on these tapes is really wonderful. Thanks as always to my taper husband, the band, the crew, the venue, and my pals. 10/10 would absolutely run through a torrential downpour during a tornado warning in Kansas while guarding the taping gear with a broken umbrella again.
