View NotesI (Kyle) couldn't make it to these shows, so I handed over the gear bag and requested Emerald take up the gauntlet. She made me so proud!!! I'll let her take it from here. --- Wow!! Hello!! It is me, Emerald. This is my first ever tape! (Well, there was that one time I tried in Fort Collins a few years ago but that one will never see the light of day and we don't need to talk about it) Big thanks to my husband, LMGBTapes, for showing me the ropes and letting me run off with his fancy equipment for a few days and for mastering these tapes, of course. More thanks to my buddy M for helping me connect and test the set-up when pre-show jitters kicked in and I forgot literally everything Kyle had taught me. Even MORE THANKS to Brandon Eggleston, the Mountain Goats' sound engineer, for always going out of his way to make sure we have access to the soundboard and that I'm not placing the stage mics on top of the sound woofer. And, of course, thank you to the Mountain Goats for being so actively supportive of the taping scene and for playing shows so incredibly good that it makes us want to travel around and tape them all the time. Anyone who knows a thing about me knows I'm an ardent fan of Matthew Saxophone Douglas, but I gotta say that Peter Hughes and Jon Wurster were the showstoppers night after night.
