First show of the tour, of which had my favorite core setlist to date. The songs always morph and evolve over the course of the tour and it is a massive joy to witness. I was hoping to have this be one of the strongest illustrations of such to date, gathering high quality recordings over the course of 7 subsequent nights, but Matt Douglas was tragically hit by covid and had to sit out of shows 4-7, throwing a major wrench into the sets. The Mountain Goats are always a joy no matter what permutation they appear in, but Matt Douglas is pivotal to the modern Mountain Goats experience, and his absence was deeply felt. Hopefully I'll be able to see my dream of "many high quality recordings back to back so people can directly witness the evolution of the songs on a particular tour"- but for now, I hope people enjoy what I *was* able to capture.

Huge thanks as always to Brandon Eggleston who allows himself to be inconvenienced amidst the hustle and bustle of touring in order to support archival efforts, the band/mgmt for allowing taping, and The Regent Theater for giving the 'ok' as well.

We actually met at a show, and following the band on this tour was our honeymoon of sorts, so these shows were very special!
