A magical experience- one which I am overjoyed to share with others. This show was a fundraiser for the Oregon Institute for Creative Research, which appears to be an fantastic institution. Founded by Barry Sanders, who spoke before the show. His passion for teaching resonated deeply in the short time that he spoke. I saw him witnessing the affairs after the show ended and wish I would have acted upon my opportunity to thank him for his contributions to the world as a teacher (A profession I have deep reverence for), and for inspiring an artist who I appreciate more than any other on this planet. Please investigate & support the Oregon Institute for Creative Research if its ideals resonate with you- https://oicr-e4.org/support/ Additionally, if you are a fan who enjoys live tapes, please support the Mountain Goats to every extent within your ability. Buy merch for every friend you know! (budget willing) Recorded by placing a zoom h4n pro underneath a jacket center-left on the stage, pointed directly at JD's feet. Any tapping or rustling you hear are the aforementioned feet. 24bit/48khz, zoom @ 12 mic level, 120 degree setting on the mics (wanted it a bit wider in order to capture more of the crowd / sound-waves bouncing off the sound-wall of the Holocene as apposed to a narrower space -- this was pure experimentation before I knew much about livetaping, in retrospect I should have kept it XY 90 deg) Thumbnail courtesy of @corbincorbin on IG, who was located immediately to my left. Thanks for the rad picture, dude!
