View NotesSUDDENLY IT WAS TEN YEARS LATER... (March 5, 2011) Almost 10 years have passed since this was first webcast back in the day when very little was streaming on the internet and a webcast was actually a fairly major production. I did all of the recording of the program in my home studio, put everything on a DAT, and fired it off to our Technical Crack Crew (Andrew Eklund, Pete Anderson, Nate Anderson) so that they could hook everything up, the Wu-sters could tune in at a predetermined time, and if everything went well we had a show! Of course, it's no surprise that this was a "best of" show that includes some very sweet moments, but some things are just that much sweeter now that another decade has passed. Most poignant to me is the recent passing of Chris' father, Dominic Castino (better known as The Silver Fox), who showed us on 12-31-2000 that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and of course there's also been more than "one child born to carry on" since this was first recorded. Rest in peace, Dom. My personal moment gets included here from the 05-28-2000 Red Sky, and several other people will recognize some of their moments in here too. That's because this is a band that has never forgotten that they live and die with the fans, the WU-sters, and we all have special moments that we'll hold dear for the rest of our lives. No, WUUU Radio isn't webcasting anymore, but there are other shows from this era that may end up getting circulated, especially since it was pretty much catch-as-catch-can back in the day and we've now got some streaming capabilities that we couldn't even have imagined back then. (Hail, Archive.org!) So stay tuned, share the music, and keep looking for The Big Wu to be playing near you because, hey, you know what they say: "Just say when and we'll do it again." The Man with the Gentle Hands, + Pastor Tim p.s. Lots of folks get named in this one and if I left anyone out, accept my apologies! ======================= Music's for sharing, never for selling. Keep it kind and pass it on. Remember, mp3s are for personal use only; please trade and share only in lossless flac or wav formats. Please do not convert to 78 rpm records, wax platters, or Edison tin cylinders. Thanks. Support the band! Please buy (and never burn!) The Big Wu's many fine commercial releases, including Tracking Buffalo Through The Bathtub (1997), 03-13-98 @ The Cedar (2000), Folktales (2000), 04-21-2000 @ The Fitzgerald Theater (2000), Spring Reverb (2002), Tool For Evening (2004). www.TheBigWu.com ENJOY!
