View Noteshttp://www.TheBigWu.com If you REALLY love The Big Wu please support them by purchasing (and never burning!) their CD releases: Tracking Buffalo Through The Bathtub (1997); 3-13-98 @ Cedar Cultural Center (2000); 4-21-00 @ Fitzgerald Theater (2000); Folktales (2000); Spring Reverb (2002); Tool For Evening (2004); plus their live downloads. NOTES: This was the Harmony Park Springtime Cabaret Acoustic show. The show started with videos of a 1998 Harmony Park HempFest with lots of THC propaganda. * 4:20 break mini-set: Jason notes that the Wu does not endorse drug use of any kind;Chris chimes in with "just the ones we like!" # The show was cut short shut due to too much smoke in the theatre... and it wasn't the amps, folks. This Day In (my) Wu History: 5/24/99 The Big Wu play acoustic @ Bryant-Lake Bowl Hi, I'm Pastor Tim, and I'm a WU-ster. In the spring of '99 I'd been listening to The Big Wu for a year and a half, and the passion was strong to get to the first-ever Big Wu Family Reunion @ Harmony Park, but who knew it was so strong that I would get in my gun-metal grey Caprice classic and drive one-THOUSAND miles straight through from Great Falls, MT to Minneapolis in time to catch a short acoustic set?! I'd communicated with on-line WU-sters like Amy Ellison, Provost, Paul Hagen, James Tainter and Ezra Bennett, but I'd never met any of them so I pulled up in front of BLB about 5pm, grabbed a much-needed cuppa coffee across the street, and waited. A little while later I walked into the lobby of the BLB and was instantly assaulted by a scream and a bear hug from Amy, who promptly started introducing me to the gathering crowd of folks I now count among my dearest friends & Family. The show itself? Well, it was an odd one, that's for sure, mostly because for many in the crowd it seemed to be more about smokin-da-green than digging the music, but the ear-to-ear grin never left my face as the band played acoustic versions of Minnesota Moon ("Look who just walked in the door!" - HA!), Half Past One, Break Of Day, Boxing Day, SOS, and House Of Wu (Al was murdering that poor upright piano during his solo!). And after the show James Tainter said there was no way I was going to sleep in my car, inviting this complete stranger to his house to crash and gather energy for the long weekend ahead. Yep, that's why I am and always will be a member of the Big Wu Family! Much Love to you all from "The Man With The Gentle Hands" + Pastor Tim
