View Notes^ = Tegan & Sara acoustic, sans band. Tegan & Sara have almost completely eliminated guitars from their live show. This show was very different, even from the previous Heartthrob tour. Their older songs (2009 and prior) were all given electronic synth remixes to sound like they stand next to 2013's Heartthrob and the current Love You To Death. This changes the show dramatically and completely removes their original sound that many fans (myself included) fell in love with. While I still enjoy the newer pop material, I would love to see them strap on the guitars and rock like they used to. Maybe one day... I still enjoyed this show, it just threw me for a loop is all. Im just not particularly a fan of taking perfectly constructed pop rock songs and giving them the electronic club remix treatment. Take "Northshore" (one of my favorite songs from 2009's Sainthood), other than the lyrics, this really isn't even the same song! Odd. Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy this one. Im sure some of you dig the new mixes and this recording turned out pretty good to turn up on your home stereos. I left some of the bass in (it was bass heavy), so please feel free to EQ accordingly.
