Then a NYS Trooper showed up, who was more reasonable. Cooler heads prevailed in the end and we were allowed to run "head height" on my stand. Way too much stress and mistreatment for a concert where the band allows open taping! ~

View NotesRecorded at the soundboard about 50ft in the air. We had issues with security about our mic stands being too high, finally after some talking we were allowed to use Steve Welds stand. We also had to keep the stand head height. Thanks to The Tedeschi Trucks Band for allowing us to record and share the music and special thanks to Steve Sunboy Weld for allowing us to all clamp on to his stand, I usually also thank the venue for allowing us to record and share the music, but not in this case. I've recorded many band at the NYS Fair without any problems always obeying there rules that I could set up my equipment as long as I wasn't in anyone's line of sight to the stage. For years I always set up in the last rows of benches by the soundboard where I'm in no ones line of sight. I even asked sound and light engineers if it was ok If I set my recording rig here they said it was OK as long I was not in there line of sight which I wasn't. Next thing I get a tap on my shoulder from the NYS state fair security that I have to take my stand down, after much talking and compromising we were allowed to use one microphone stand which belonged to Steve Weld a friend and fellow taper but we had to keep the stand head level. So after all of that stress we recorded the show and the recording still came out great. As far the NYS state fair Dickey Betts is playing Tuesday the 28th, would love to record it but not sure if I Want to deal with security and the stress again Al Schnier from the band moe. played guitar on "Tell The Truth"
