View NotesThis was day one of an experiment in audience microphonics based on the Stereo Zoom concept of Michael Williams. In this derivation, we used 2 Omnidirectional microphones, AKGck22 and two AKGc414's in cardiod, one facing forward (0') and one facing to the rear (180'). The desired approach is to mix the Omni's with some combination of the forward and rear mics.  The outcome is a wider soundstage and more stereo imaging which to my ears sounds more like you are there than many traditional audience recording approaches.
