Taper Notes:
View Notes"Imagine the entire universe all compacted into one black golf ball this big. Nothing has ever existed before. There is no such thing as a moment because nothing has happened before...There is nothing to see, nothing to hear, nothing to feel becuase there is no one to see, no one to hear, no one to feel..." - Chris confirms that this monologue in track 2 is an improvisation and not a composed song/lyric. In track 8 you can hear someone in the audience yell for "Gorilla Boy" but Chris says "We played it in soundcheck, do we /have/ to play it?" "Jive Bible" opened There was tons of BAD monitor feedback during this entire show -- sometimes as frequently as every 30 seconds. Chris makes reference to it on a few occasions. I was there and I remember it being REALLY painfully bad. Also the NJ audience was very very boisterous at this show, near the microphones in the low ceilings which picked them up loudly and clearly. Luckily I have had a lot of practice in scrubbing out feedback (it really does scrub out nearly seamlessly) and attenuating the many frequent yells, whistles, and claps. There is still some obnioxious chatter near the mics at times, but on the whole this show should now extremely listenable and should clearly replace any copy you may have had before as it is a huge upgrade. I spent a over a month polishing this one up for you guys so it really shines the way a show of this quality and vintage SHOULD. I did not want to spend a month working on this, but once I started, I had to finish it up right. I hope you all appreciate the work I put into it. It's worth it for the Sweet Widow alone! Master recorded and transferred by Kirk Miller Cleanup (EQ-ing out annoying feedback, scubbing loud clap scrubbing, and minimizing loud yells and whistles) by Scott Bernstein 3/21-4/24/2021 Massive thanks to Kirk for sharing his master of this incredible (and ancient) gig.
