View NotesLet me begin by saying that I am rarely critical of the bands I see and the shows I tape. So, I apologize ahead of time if I offend anyone with this short review. Maybe I had unreasonable expectations due to all the hype surrounding these guys. I'm not entirely thrilled with this pull. While I was in the typical location for taping in this venue, the sound quality, volume, and detail are not typical of this venue. The sound crew struggled with heavy base at the open, and never got the PA volume turned back up or the vocals dialed in. The volume in the back half of this small club was surprisingly low, thus promoting a very "social" atmosphere with LOTS of continuous chatter. It also appeared the boys on stage got off to a slow start and struggled to keep the energy consistent. Maybe this was the result of a 3rd night in a row of headlining after a long tour of shortened "opener" sets. Regardless, the show was Sold Out, the house was filled with tons of wonderful Dallas Jamily folks tossing around great vibes, and a most excellent time was had by all! I look forward to another opportunity to see Spafford in the near future at Wind Rider Mountain Festival at Ski Apache, NM this May 26-28, 2017!
