View NotesI've actually gotten a lot of people who were at this show asking via email if I had it/could please upload it, so, I couldn't deny fellow Cough-Drops of their glory. This show was the concluding show of their 1996 Irresistible Bliss tour. They went on another tour in 1997 supporting the album as well, playing large festivals like H.O.R.D.E. (bootleg of a show there, I do have, yes, stay tuned!) Failure (from "Stuck On You" and opening for Tool fame) was the opening act and their guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen joined in to jam on guitar during Down To This. This is a great show, and True Dreams from this show, as some of you may remember, was the MP3 O' The Month in October 1999 on the now-defunct www.soulcoughing.com. Opus, the site's lovely webmaster/den momma cited this as one of his favorite Cough bootlegs. A little backstory, Opus Moreschi, he's all grown up now, is currently head writer for the Colbert Report. He's the second comedian to have been associated with the band, seeing as their roadie Gentleman Jim outgrew his 1990s Cough moniker and became the furthermore illustrious Jim Norton, who's had stand up specials on HBO and Comedy Central, and appeared semi-frequently on episodes of Louie on FX. Anyway, light a nice cigar as the sun begins to set, pour a nice glass of your favorite beverage, and get lost in the sounds of Soul Coughing, coming to you live from The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on the twelfth of December, 1996!
