View NotesHaving seen the Pumpkins and Corgan dozens of times over the years at intimate venues, I wasn't at all excited for an arena tour with hits and nearly skipped. Coming in with low expectations, I was blown away by much of the set which featured live rarities, including the tragically-underperformed Try^3 and a somehow-even-more-epic-than-before Porcelina. The sound at T-Mobile Arena was excellent given my distance from the stage; and Katie Cole's backing vocals are a welcome addition. The crowd was generally well-behaved and there were several empty seats around me. I did not record Metric since I was making adjustments to my gear. I had a battery box in my chain, but decided to bypass it given the lower-than-expected levels I was getting from Metric. Track notes: * Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is a (new?) guitar version played over the PA (not the piano version from the album of the same name). * Imagery from Machina II was featured, despite no songs from that album being performed. * Rocket was performed as on Siamese Dream, not the "mellow" version from 1996/2007 shows. Either way, it's great to have one of their lesser-known singles performed live, again. * Not sure if Mayonaise had a long new intro or if Sheila has a long new outro, but left it at the end of Sheila. * Likewise, I'm not sure about the Mayonaise to Porcelina transition, either; just enjoy them :) * Porcelina features a killer new outro which debuted (as far as I know) on 2018-06-27, it was the highlight of the evening for me. * Backing track distortion at the start of 1979 and Ava Adore was audible at the show and not due to my gear or editing. * Solara was more enjoyable live than the studio recording; it now features a drum solo which was added at some point on this tour. I regret not bringing a yogurt or granola bar :) But as a spoiled Pumpkins fan, I always want more. Now I'm looking forward to a Machina II tour featuring Real Love, White Spider and the heaviest Blue Skies Bring Tears \m/ And a pre-Gish tour, too, kthxbye.
