View Notes*Notes: This is probably the AUD #4 Coresound Cardioid recording listed as "unsurfaced" on http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp1998-06-30. The cassettes I received only listed this show as "DAT - 2nd Gen". This source sounds very similar to the AUD #3 Coresound Binaural source, but it is definitely a unique source, based on some of the mic handling noise on this source, such as the brief spot during Billy's comments after "Perfect", and a lack of some of the crowd noise that is loudly heard on AUD #3. Because there are instances where the crowd noise is similar in spots, it's likely that the two tapers were standing nearby one another. This source cuts in during "To Sheila", but has more tape after the show, where you can hear the two tapers talk to each other before they leave. The other sources for this show include a Schoeps MK4 source, a similar-sounding Schoeps CCM4 source, and an audience video source. Out of all of the sources, I prefer this one, as it has a great sense of atmosphere to it and has the least crowd noise. This concert was the first show of the US "Charity" Tour, where the band donated all ticket revenue to local charities in each city they played. For this opening date, the band presented a check for $170,590 to the East Bay Agency for Children. A representative from the Mayor's office was also on hand to declare June 30th, 1998 as "The Smashing Pumpkins Day". Performance-wise, this show features the debut of the song "Annie-Dog", making this the first concert where the entire Adore album was performed within the same show (the others were Los Angeles 7/1, Detroit 7/8, and Fort Worth 7/10).
