Taper Notes:
View Notesthis had been circulating as an SHN fileset with the following lineage: 07.10.96 USAir Arena; Landover, MD, US - 2/ aud>dat D7/SS>DSM-6 [the original text file is included here for posterity] thanks to Deadmarsh for pointing out that despite carrying the same rig info, this version actually sounds better than the spoogles DSM-6S > D7 tape at http://www.archive.org/details/tsp1996-07-10.flac16 upon further examination I discovered differences in the crowd noise (notably right at the start of the show) and a tape pause after Cherub Rock that isn't present on the other version I cannot detect a tape flip at any of the usual spots (45, 50, 55, 60 minutes) so I do not believe this to be an analog recording, which rules out the CSB > D6 rig as being the source for this you can also hear skips / flutter as the taper's DAT runs out at the 120 minute mark, missing the bands final thank-you (missing roughly 60 seconds compared to the spoogles version) so, it's possible that this is the ECM-909A > D8 source, or there could also have been two people running DSM-6 > D7 rigs at this show (a pretty common stealth setup in the mid-90s) track splits were obviously done on the fly during the transfer, and a cut / repeat during dead air around the 72 minute mark (ie the CD change for 74 minute media) seems to confirm a standalone burner as the transfer device I recombined this into a single WAV file with Audacity, cleaned up the cut / repeat and retracked it with CDWave this is Jimmy's last performance with the band until April 10th, 1999 in Detroit. Jonathon Melvoin joins in on a second drum kit during Silverfuck thanks to the original taper, whoever they may be
