Levels were run really hot during the beginning of Birdland, there's some audible clipping when things get loud. It was noticed by the taper and dropped less than a minute in, but the levels continued to clip a little for the remainder of the 2nd set. For this reason I normalized the second set to -0.30 dB (using the peaks, not the RMS), and then dithered (triangular - 2 bits peak to peak). Both processes were done in Soundforge. The result is that the files in the second set peak at -0.30 (safer for your audio equipment). Seeing how the sets overlap on disc 2, I went through the same normalization process with all of set 1.
