I can pretty much walk to the venue from my house. --This show was in the Indiana University Auditorium, a beautiful limestone building right in the heart of campus. --It is a riot to see shows there, as the ushers are friendly students, or sometimes old folks just volunteering their time. Either way, they are happy to show you where your seats are, etc. --For this particular show we had 5th row seats, dead center. I brought in the whole rig. I set up the mic stand at about 7 feet, I was running the Nak CM-304s and the PZMs in a 4-mic mix, into my D-3 DAT and I think a couple of analog decks after that. I had the only mic stand in the venue. --This recording should sound very clean, and pretty much like it sounded on-stage, as we were so close. --The sound of this recording should be much better than the tape Jaz refers to...remember, this is a 3000 seat theater style venue, not an NFL football stadium, like the 6-30-1995 recording. --Anyway, I am certainly glad that this tape survived intact for 11 years. --Many thanks to Jaz for the transfer/mastering process. You are on a a roll, dude. --Greg Holtz - December 2007 JAZ NOTES (12/11/2007): --This show is much better in sound Quality than the last Rusted Root show I posted. Once again this is one of Greg's Best Masters!!!!! vanillag NOTES (12/24/2022): --HUGE Thanks to Greg Holtz for recording & sharing this Rusted Root 1996 show & to JAZ for the transfer & sharing it out into the world. Absolutely Appreciated & does sound especially sweet!! --Nil Lara opened the show --I added the band members info --added more detail to the venue info & setlist --corrected the month in the text file --corrected some song titles toward how they appear on the original albums --corrected a couple incorrect song titles as well --added pics of the venue
