Katie Johntz is his sister. --This new transfer using better equipment brings out some of the flaws in the recording, including tiny 'pops' that originated with the mics or the poets as they spoke. --Also, although the cassette was marked "no Dolby" there was a lot of hiss and it sounded unnaturally bright as if Dolby had been used. The recording was therefore decoded using Dolby C. --This tape came from Caroline Welch (a/k/a Carlisle) who passed away in July 2008 and is still missed. A video exists and has been synced to DVD by the inestimable Kevin Tobin using a prior transfer of these cassettes. --Enjoy! --mhg :: 2023-02-11 vanillag NOTES (2/14/2023): --Thank you so much to Bill Husie for recording & Carolyn Welch for sharing her master cassette of Bill's DAT for this "An Evening Of Poetry & Piano" 1990 show & to mgoldey for the upgraded transfer & care in the post-production work & sharing it far & wide to all of us. Absolutely Appreciated & sounds just fantastic!! --tickets for this event were $12.50 - whatta deal!! --added more detail to the band members info --I corrected some song titles toward how they appear on the original albums/poetry books & corrected some others to the actual title &/or toward what was actually on the track, etc. --t23 is actually the poem entitled "Kick", despite what it says on the FLACs about t24 being "Kick"...one can hear Michael McClure introduce the poem at the start of t23. --Hard to believe I found more (all??) of the correct titles for the Michael McClure poems, but hey, we live in the age of information & just goes to show if you are patient & stick with it & keep trying, you just may uncover what you are looking for...the only 3 I'm not 100% sure on & can't totally confirm are t29 ("Deconstruction Man"), t30 ("The Flame Is Ours") & t31 ("Where Are the Snows Of Hollywood")...if anyone out there can confirm these or knows what the actual titles are if any of them are incorrect, please let us all know, won't you?? --same disbelief in that I found a page of the lyrics for these Robert Hunter poems & was able to confirm what was &/or correct some others to their proper titles, etc. --I added some more detail to the venue info --added some sweet pics of the venue & a poster for the event --fixed the numbering of the tracks in the text file --added some more detail to the setlist info --created an md5 checksum file --added the ffp fingerprints to the text file --https://writing.upenn.edu/pennsound/x/McClure.php --http://www.hunterarchive.com/files/Poetry/NightCadre.html
