Taper Notes:
View NotesNotes: - tape hiss throughout show, but in no way intrusive - cut near end of Alabama Getaway - Slack String Quartet cuts in 4th verse - no noise reduction used, just transferred as is from tape to digital I spent a long time considering whether to seed this show. Not due to any reason other than that the person who taped this show has got to have a cleaner version than what i upload here, and search as i might, i couldn't find this show seeded anywhere else. However, Hunter seeds are not all that common, and i really feel that this is a wonderful show, with very clear vocals and sound, and this show should be heard. The venue is a small one and the setting is intimate with Hunter and guitar/harmonica right up front. In fact, you might even say it sounds as good as a soundboard, albeit with hiss, when Hunter is singing/playing. In fact you might even say it during the banter. And the between song banter is pretty entertaining, and the show itself has a great set list, IMHO. Just one final note. I got this tape around '84 or '85 from a used record shop in New Jersey. And whoever made the recording, cut the recording just after the final note of each song. And all the banter (pretty much between every song) precedes the lead into the next song. If i felt the banter was short and didn't detract from the listening, i kept it at the beginning of the track, otherwise, i moved it to a file of its own. Thus the several separate 'banter' tracks. And another final note: at the very start of the show, Hunter states that he is recording the show to make an album. Now, i in no way support the spread via bit torrent of any commercial releases, and fully respect any artist who prefers to keep their live shows non-trade-friendly. However, having said that, i researched the entire Hunter catalogue and nowhere found this show released anywhere, not even one song from the show. If someone does discover that my research is flawed, and that parts of this show have been commercially released, please notify the appropriate mods of this site, and i'll say sorry all around.
