Jer was gone, adios. Word came out that Weir was going to carry on, carry the torch.... who with? Was Dylan going to take Jerry's place for a bit? No, K left for Hawaii...and word came out...RatDog. The name "RatDog" was a bad sign. But, after Samba In the Rain, Wave To the Wind (or whatever that awful Phil song was called), Eternity...and f'ing Corrina...I figured it couldn't get any worse that the last few Dead years. Surprise!! Vince was in RatDog. --Now, if you are a Bobby fan, this is for you...Bobby sings the blues. Noboby can sing the blues like Breathless Bobby can...amazing... --RatDog is probably my fav group of all times...classic RD not what passes for RatDog nowadays..... --Got this from the dude who taped. Sorry to the dude, but I don't remember either his name or his mics etc.....but this is from the dat, no cdrs or similar nonsense involved. --Nobody can sing Take Me to the River like BW can.. vg NOTES (2025-12-02): --it has been surmised by gsarchivist that this AUD is the same root AUD as shnid=33550 (https://etreedb.org/shn/33550) recorded by Pete Klausner, just that this one is direct from a DAT clone & without the CDR step & is in 1648, as mentioned by Dolphinsmile above, etc. --Edwin McCain was the opening act --this venue opened in 1979 & is also known as "Mesa Amphitheater Phoenix" --https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesa_Amphitheatre

They searched, but my friend Mike Salemi & I "smuggled" the equipment down our pants. I had to go without a mic stand. I held one mic & Mike held the other mic the ENTIRE show, using full size Shure BG 4.0 condenser mics. vg NOTES (2025-12-02): --Edwin McCain was the opening act --this venue opened in 1979 & is also known as "Mesa Amphitheater Phoenix" --https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesa_Amphitheatre
