My friend was the house sound guy there. We set up a line feed from the board to the lighting board up stairs. We planned this before Jerry died, there are a couple drop outs, where the feed went bad, tape kept rolling. There has been many analog gen transfer, and someone spliced in the sonic studio source Joe Rioux made. I thought the master source should get out there. My notes on this transfer: i am so psyched about this transfer! As you can read in the texfile, this is the pure digital soundboard. No pre-FM, no analog, no DAE. there are some patches however. I done my best to make the patches as smooth as possible. the patch source had some warts, and level shifting, so i did my best to match the waveforms..if anyone feels they can do a better job with the patches and transfer, i can happily send the raw flacs to you. no ego here, i just want the best possible source to circulate. also, i think the pre FM source on archive may have been patched with Coresounds, parts of the patches just have that aud feel. particularly the t stones > little light patch. lower quality than the rest of the pre FM source. but, its all i could get to patch this incredible crisp, clear, and hot source. thanks to the madtaper as always, its an honor to transfer this upgrade of this historic show. You know our love will not fade away...

After I started listening to it, the volume was nearly non-existent. It was barely at a whisper with the volume cranked. Yet the wave pattern looked perfectly fine. --So, I dug up my original copy from the archive, and it suffered from the same problem. --Through my experience in editing, I knew what the problem might’ve been. --This was caused from one of the channels being inverted which cancelled out the volume. --So, by inverting the right channel to match the left, it brings back the volume 100%. --I was able to fix that problem. --I’m going to guess that most of the copies in circulation suffer from the same issue. --The soundboard tape was missing a small portion towards the end of the show and has an audience recording patched in during tracks 17, 18, 19. There were some volume fluctuations during the audience patch portions, so I balanced and smoothed out those areas. --I think this might be an upgrade over the older versions due to all the fixing I did on this. --Quality is very good to excellent. (2024 Upgrade 24-bit) vg NOTES (2025-11-18): --Many Thanks to whomever originally recorded this & to kingrue for all the detailed hard work he put into making it sound geat!! --From Good Homes was the opening act --venue opened on 1899-07-04...it was known as "Club Casino" (1976-1992) --https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hampton_Beach_Casino_Ballroom
