FOB Audience
Lineage:
Neumann TLM-170 (cardoids [hypercards for the first 2 songs], FOB sweet spot, center about 30' from stage) -> Sound Devices 722 (@24/96); FLAC File processing in SoundForge Audio Studio 10.0b (volume normalization; resample to 44.1 with iZotope 64-Bit SRC set higher than "Highest Quality" setting w/anti-alias filter; 24->16 bit dither using iZotope MBIT+ Dither with Ultra noise shaping, High dither settings); Tracked in CDWav.
Taper Notes:
View NotesThis set was part of the snoe.down festival I had intended to record this set in the cardoid pattern, but before going semi-stealthy at head-height way FOB (which venue security was not cool with...) I had set up in the rear of the arena using the hypercardoid pattern but in the rush to get ready upfront I didn't switch the mics back cardoid. So by the time I realized a couple of minutes into the show, there was no way for me to switch patterns until the band took a break (as it causes a very momentary dropout when you switch patterns on my mics), there was no break in the show until 20+ minutes in, after "Like A Buddha". Recorded, mastered, and tracked by Scott Bernstein There is a higher quality 24 bit recording of this show available at <a href="http://www.archive.org/details/rre2010-03-27.tlm170.flac24" rel="ugc nofollow">http://www.archive.org/details/rre2010-03-27.tlm170.flac24</a> Follow me on Twitter to track my near-daily postings of FREE live music and concert photography: <a href="http://www.twitter.com/scott_bernstein" rel="ugc nofollow">http://www.twitter.com/scott_bernstein</a> Or become a "fan" on Facebook here: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scott-Bernsteins-Live-Music-Photos-Page/166706713365451" rel="ugc nofollow">https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scott-Bernsteins-Live-Music-Photos-Page/166706713365451</a> Check out the album of photos I posted from this show here: <table style="width:194px;"><tr><td align="center" style="height:194px;"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/scotthbernstein/SnoeDown2010?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite" rel="ugc nofollow"><img src="//web.archive.org/web/2im_/https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-MrX9cbgTNg8/S76p0tot5EE/AAAAAAAAht8/tiKjGCHdPsQ/s160-c/SnoeDown2010.jpg" width="160" height="160" style="margin:1px 0 0 4px;" alt="SnoeDown2010.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align:center;font-family:arial, sans-serif;font-size:11px;"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/scotthbernstein/SnoeDown2010?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite" style="color:#4D4D4D;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;" rel="ugc nofollow">snoe.down 2010</a></td></tr></table>
