The latter, and the one in "Lucinda" have, happily, been made to vanish. "Straight Eight" still has a noticeable kink in it. --Bruce Barnum was a Deadhead and an avid taper from the early 1980’s until his death in 2017 at age 48. Over the years, he taped dozens of Dead shows throughout the Northeast, as well as other concerts, some of which have not been heard since then. After his death, about 60 of his master cassettes turned up in a used record store in Hudson, NY, where some had been bought by random people nostalgic for the days of cassettes. The rest were purchased by a fellow Deadhead and archivist. Bruce’s daughter, Jessica, had more, and was kind enough to lend them to be digitized. Many of these recordings sound excellent for their age. They are Bruce's legacy. --Enjoy! --mhg :: 2022-12-21 vanillag NOTES (12/23/2022): --BIG thanks to Bruce Barnum & mgoldey for their parts in sharing & mastering this the Radiators 1984 show & especially to whomever originally recorded it. Absolutely Appreciated!! --Regarding the sets, it's pretty apparent to me that this was actually Set 1 & Set 2 here, not a Set 2 & Set 3 as originally reported. This is because in Set 1 here (originally listed as Set 2), they are getting the mix together in the SBD & for the stage monitors (as evidenced by Dave going "check, check" to hear himself, etc.) like they would be doing during a first set...if it were Set 2, they'd have that mostly worked out by then. When they say, "we gonna take a little break...we got at least one more set to go, ya gonna stick around??", it totally plays like they are announcing Set 2 & a possible third (which didn't happen) just to hype up the party that night. The fact that this was listed on the cassette by Bruce Barnum as 'Set II' I'm sure refers to what starts with "Slip Away" & not the set before it. This is all an educated theory from listening to thousands of live shows & I could be mistaken...if anyone has actual proof that this was indeed Sets 2 & 3 presented here, please let us all know. --I added the band members info --corrected some song titles according to how they are listed on the original albums --added more detail to the venue info --added more detail to the setlist --added the ffp fingerprints to the text file --created an md5 checksum --added pics of the venue
