I did this so that I could go up on the balcony, and record from further back as well, to get a different perspeive on how this fine hall sounds.

View NotesThis recording was my first time for me to set up rearward in this hall. I ran another recording as a controlled safety copy from the stage lip, where the past recordings have been done from.
So, this copy is an experiment in depth of field, and with a less utilized stereo technique of BLE, or Boundary Layer Effect.

This is an experiment to hear how the room sounded at depth.
I used DPA4060 omni pair spaced ~8', and taped tight to the balcony face to attempt the Boundary Layer capture. The mic preamp was the DPA MMA6000, and a Roland R09HR recorder at 24.48
