No Rest Till I Die 14... banter 15. Padling Down First Ave. Source Notes: First half of the set was pulled from a position 15' or so distant from the left side stage "stack". With ceilings only 7'4" on this deck and hords of bodies blocking the PA, I eventually abandoned this crappy sounding position in favor of pulling a stack tape from near the sound board. The left mic was aimed into the "stage" while the right was angled into the middle of the two way PA main... some smallish EV model. This allowed some capture of the drum kit apart from the kick drum which was the only piece of that in the mix. All vocals and instruments went DI or were mic'ed into the mix which the right channel captured. Hyper card pattern was employed not because of any design, but as a carry over from the opening minutes of rolling at distance. Card pattern may have been a better choice.
