John "Marmaduke" Dawson (John Collins Dawson IV) - rhythm guitar, vox David Nelson (b.Joseph A.Levin) - lead guitar, vox Buddy Cage - pedal steel guitar Allen Kemp (Allen Leon Kemp) - bass, vox Patrick Shanahan - drums, percussion source: sbd cassette master lineage: sbd cassette master > cdrs > eac > flac seeded to Lossless Legs by Rob Berger Rob Berger NOTES: --opened for Grateful Dead vg NOTES (3/5/2023): --Thanks so much to Rob Berger for recording & sharing his master of this New Riders Of the Purple Sage 1981 show with us all. Absolutely Appreciated!! --I think the low music one can hear during the silences between the first couple tunes is that the soundman never muted the channels of the house music once the band came on...it was New Years Eve, whaddya gonna do?? --I added more detail to the band members info --corrected some song titles toward how they appear on the original albums --added more detail to the setlist info --added more detail to the venue info --this venue began its life as "Oakland Civic Auditorium" from 1914-1984 & then after a 1984 renovation it was "Henry J.Kaiser Convention Center" or simply "Kaiser Convention Center" from 1984-present [2023])...the city closed the facility in 2006 and its future was uncertain for a decade, but in 2015 the city chose a local developer to renovate the facility --On March 9, 2022, the unidentified, mummified body of a man was found within a wall of the building during renovations. A sheriff's spokesman said the body appeared to have been there for "many years". In April 2022 the body was identified as that of a 44-year-old homeless man who had been missing since August 2020. He was identified by means of the serial number on a surgical metal plate in his ankle. --https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiser_Convention_Center --created an ffp checksum file --created an md5 checksum file --added nice pics of the venue
