View NotesRecorded by Larry Fox MATRIX Recording, consisting of post-show mixture of (AUD): Earthworks SR71>Graham Patten DMic-20>Tascam DAP1 DAT at the lip of the stage (SBD): Monitor Board > Sony M1 DAT (vocals, keyboard, acoustic guitar, tabla) Transferred to WAV, custom mixed with Soundforge. Mix gets better after 1st 2 songs. There was no PA or soundboard at this show, so I patched out of the band's stage monitor mixing console. The lip of stage recording picked up the bass, & electric guitar, and most of the percussion, but was really lacking in vocals, since it was positioned behind the main vocal speaker. I mixed the two sources using Soundforge, with *ALOT* of trial & error (lots of error), and ended up mixing each song separately in order to maintain proper synch between the two sources. The first song of the show is a little heavier on the SBD feed than I cared for, and I adjusted the mixture to better ratio on the rest of the show. All in all, I think it sounds pretty good. Not perfect, but as good as I could get it without devoting the rest of my life to remixing this one show.
