Original master recording: Neumann TLM-170 (subcardoids at lip of stage) -> Apogee AD1000 -> Teac DAP20 (@16 bit/48 khz) Transfer: Sony R500->Sound Devices 722 Mastered: Soundforge Pro 10.0b - *All file manipulation in Soundforge done at 24 bits*. Volume normalization, sample rate conversion 48khz to 44.1khz using iZotope 64-Bit SRC set higher than "Highest Quality" setting w/anti-alias filter, then dithered back to 16 bits using using iZotope MBIT+ with Ultra noise shaping, High dither settings. Tracked in CDWav.

I put in a 2nd DAT just in time to get the last few notes and the good nights.... Recorded, Transferred, Mastered, and Tracked by Scott Bernstein (5/19-22/2010). Taper notes: Finally I've had time to put out another BARN series, #50 -- New Mastersounds, one of my favorite newer bands, at a very late night Jazzfest show at the tiny House Of Blues Parish in New Orleans. Wow this is hot, long one -- it was a 2AM show that probably started closer to 3, and spilled over a 3 hour tape (not including the setbreak). This was one of those "back at the hotel room just around daybreak" Jazzfest nights. Luckily I got hipped to this band at High Sierra Music Festival in 2005 and have been on the New Mastersounds train since then. This is a bunch of British guys who have defintiely dined on a steady diet of American funk and jazz grooves that came around in the 1970s. Any number of their tunes could easily be mistaken for tunes on some of the early Meters records! Enjoy!
