Greg Loiacono - Guitar / Vocals Tim Bluhm - Guitar / Vocals This interview/performance ocurred during my Thursday afternoon music mix on Community Radio KXCI 91.3FM in Tucson. Jim Foley, KXCI's volunteer music director and music mix host, conducted the interview with a handful of volunteers in the "performance studio" (which also doubled as the conference room, pledge phone room, training room, etc). As was frequently the case at KXCI, technical troubles didn't take long to manifest when Foley's mic crapped out. I don't recall what we did to remedy the situation, but as you can tell during the middle of the interview, the "new" microphone still gave him problems. At least the musicians' microphones were stable throughout! As for the original record deck, KXCI typically had whatever functional donated [used] dual-well recorder was available to record pre-FM audio. These decks were name-brand like Sony or JVC, but weren't always the best recorders - this instance, thankfully, isn't too bad. As for the songs: They introduce the first song as "Mona Lisa" with a caveat that they haven't settled on a name yet. Rare version of Countrywide which Tim Bluhm indicates they are only playing because he woke up that morning with the tune in his head. Rounding out the short set is a nice version of a classic John Sebastian tune. The Mother Hips also performed that evening at The Rock with Steak opening the show. Big thanks to Greg and Tim - they were perhaps the easiest-going musicians I had the pleasure of hosting on KXCI! ENJOY! -John
