Audience recording 24bit Taped and transferred by jamroom - JAM305 Band members: Stuart Braithwaite – Guitar, Vocals Dominic Aitchison – Bass, Guitar Martin Bulloch – Drums John Cummings – Guitar Barry Burns – Guitar, Keyboards, Synthesizer, Vocals Luke Sutherland – Violin, Guitar, Vocals, Percussion Gig Notes: Supported by RM Hubbert. Aidan Moffat appeared with RM Hubbert. The Royal Concert Hall was hosting the annual Celtic Connections festival and this support was part of it. I though it unusual to see most of the stalls seating had been removed, presumably for the festival. We were treated to a good setlist, rich with tunes from the new album, Rave Tapes. Everybody has their own fave tunes and folks like to moan that this wasn't played, or that wasn't played, but I enjoyed the show as it was. I also never tire of watching people in the crowd jump out of their skin during Mogwai Fear Satan, when the band come back in after the very quiet section. That said, the volume wasn't particularly loud for this show. I usually wear earplugs when I consider it to be anywhere near "too loud" and I didn't need them. Barry had a lead come loose from his keyboard set up during the intro to MGP, so a re-start was required, causing Stuart to comment that he thought the night had been going too smoothly. However, there was much laughter and we were straight back into it. A great show in a great venue. I hope Mogwai get to play here again. Recording notes and sound quality: I was a little left of centre and half way back in the stalls. Generally, it was a well behaved crowd, noise-wise and due to the venue being the RCH, the sound was really good. I boosted the volume by +12db, but that's it. I believe this is the third audio source from the night. band links http://www.mogwai.co.uk/ http://mogwai.sandbaghq.com/ https://www.facebook.com/mogwai venue link http://www.glasgowconcerthalls.com/ Please support the band by buying their albums, merch, and by going to see them live. They deserve your cash. Do NOT sell this recording, trade FREELY! No art, make you own. Enjoy!
