Neumann TLM-170 (hypercardoids, approx 40 foot split, each mic on its own stand on opposite sides of the soundboard w/foam wind screens)->Sound Devices 722 (@24/96); FLAC File processing in SoundForge Audio Studio 10.0c (L/R channel time sync - removed 490 samples from left channel at start of file; volume normalization; resample to 44.1 with iZotope 64-Bit SRC set higher than "Highest Quality" setting w/anti-alias filter; 24->16 bit dither using iZotope MBIT+ Dither with Ultra noise shaping, High dither settings); Tracked in CDWav.
Taper Notes:
View NotesIn track 4, there was an odd PA glitch from 10:41.931 - 10:42.578 where the right channel's volume went up about 4 db and the left channel's volume went down accordingly. I did my best to mask this issue so that now you can only hear it if you are listening very closely. Taper notes: It was a hot day in the sun at Gathering Of The Vibes -- near 100 degrees, and luckily the overhang of the stage provided shade to those of us who came in close enough to the band. I think this was the hottest (temperature-wise) moe. show I have ever seen! But the performances also made for a great birthday show for me -- in particular the transitions in this show are extremely well-done -- the Good Trip > Faker rides in on a wave of feedback, the Faker > Moth is just a POWERHOUSE and the Buster > Rebubula segue has cool hints of So Long throughout which kept us guessing as to which song was coming next. In general, the Moth from this show is totally on fire, and everything is extremely well played, including the semi-rarity, Good Trip. So Long fits so nicely into the middle of Rebubula, and the Rebubula iteself almost wiped me out from heat exhaustion! If you are still burning CDs, I would suggest breaking your discs between tracks 7 and 8 Recorded, mastered, tracked, and posted by Scott Bernstein, 7/27/2011 Photos coming soon There is a higher quality 24 bit version of this recording available at http://www.archive.org/details/moe2011-07-23.tlm170.flac24 Follow me on Twitter to track my near-daily postings of FREE live music and concert photography: http://www.twitter.com/scott_bernstein Or become a "fan" on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scott-Bernsteins-Live-Music-Photos-Page/166706713365451 Here's a roundup of the entirety of my 2011 Vibes recordings: God Street Wine (4/5ths) + special guest Joe Russo on drums: http://www.archive.org/details/gsw2011-07-22.tlm170.flac16 Taj Mahal: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=547047 Tedeschi Trucks Band: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=547111 Levon Helm Band (w/special guest Bob Weir): http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=547136 Furthur: http://www.archive.org/details/furthur2011-07-22.tlm170.bernstein.115472.flac16 Deep Banana Blackout: http://www.archive.org/details/dbb2011-07-23.tlm170.flac16 Max Creek: http://www.archive.org/details/maxcreek2011-07-23.tlm170.flac16 moe.: http://www.archive.org/details/moe2011-07-23.tlm170.flac16 Elvis Costello: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=547250 Jane's Addiction: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=547276 Rhythm Devils: http://www.archive.org/details/rhythmdevils2011-07-24.tlm170.flac16 Dr. John: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=547308
