Lineage:
Original recording: Scheops CCM4 (FOB/Center, sweet spot)->VMS box->Tascam DAP1->DAT(master recorded at 16 bit/44.1 khz); Transfer: Sony R500->Sound Devices 722; Mastered: Soundforge Audio Studio 10.0a - slight volume normalization, smoothing volume adjustments listed below. All file manipulation in Soundforge done at 24 bits, then dithered back to 16 bits using using iZotope MBIT+ with Ultra noise shaping, High dither settings. Tracked in CDWav.
Taper Notes:
View NotesOminous Seapods opened Minor volume adjustments at (2:44) in S1T2, (00:17) in S1T3, (00:09) in S2T2 * = w/Ominous Seapods "bare-chested and masked", and Ted Marotta (OSP drummer) and Brian Mangini (OSP keyboardist) sitting in on drums with Vinnie on the same kit ^ = w/Ted Marotta on drums with Vinnie Recorded by Scott Bernstein (patched out of Craig Savarick or Craig Hillwig, can't remember); Transfer, Mastering, and Tracking by Scott Bernstein Nov-Dec 2009. Taper notes: Sorry, not too much of a story about this one. Don't really have any recollections from this show at all besides it being a generally fun time and some fuzzy details about the Ominious Seapods running onstage and doing some really crazy stuff during Brent Black. Sometimes you check out a somewhat ancient recording and it doesn't sound that great....but then there are times like this one where you check out a recording you haven't listened to maybe since the night you recorded it and it just sounds WONDERFUL. Pay special attention to the original arrangement of Happy Hour Hero, the long-forgotten Brain Tuba, a killer Recreational Chemistry, a really hot Head, and a crazy Buster. This is release number 10 in my occasional BARN archive restoration series.
