Phosphorescent and Neco Case opened the show. A shout out to the venue manager who checked with MMJ and finally allowed us to bring in audio recording gear and escorted us to the GA pit. This is a very nice amphitheater that seats almost 7,500 people, near the Black Warrior River in downtown Tuscaloosa. We hit the free parking lot about an hour before the show and checked out the park by the river and drank a beer. The walk from that lot was about five minutes and traffic after the show was not bad at all. I'll be going back to this place if they keep having bands like this. The band seemed like they were enjoying themselves and Jim James was his normally exuberant self. Part of the tickets sales went to tornado relief in Tuscaloosa, which was hit with a devastating storm on April 27. The band toured some of the hardest hit areas on Thursday. enjoy!
